Seamless Integration of Long-Established German Private Bank and Subsidiary by a German Universal Bank

Following the successful takeover of a long-established German private bank and its subsidiary by a German universal bank, LKPU was entrusted with overseeing the pre and post-merger integration process. The integration aimed to seamlessly integrate clients, processes, and IT systems.

• Aligned the compliance and anti-money laundering policies, processes, and IT systems in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Luxembourg, ensuring consistency and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Conducted an analysis of approximately 500 global and regional policies to determine their applicability to the merged entity.
• Performed a gap analysis to identify areas where new or revised policies were needed.
• Integrated the policies, processes, employees, and IT systems of the acquired private bank and its subsidiary into the existing framework of the German universal bank.
• Ensured alignment, standardization, and efficiency across the integrated organization.
• Developed comprehensive plans for governance during both the interim and permanent phases of the integration process.
• Implemented appropriate governance structures and processes to ensure effective oversight and decision-making.
